Covering the Christchurch attacks
New Zealand's prime minster called it one of the country's "darkest days." At least 50 worshippers were killed, and more than 40 others injured, after coordinated terrorist shootings at two mosques in Christchurch, N.Z.
As Muslim communities across the country reel from the attacks, and while the world is mourning for the loss of lives, many are also questioning where the end of gun massacres is.
In Canada, many are watching this story closely, including Laura McQuillan. She’s a breaking news host who’s been covering the story for CBC News Network since it broke. She also has a personal stake in this - she was born and grew up in New Zealand. She spoke to Cross Country Checkup’s Duncan McCue.
